Roy Ernest Faber was born June 3rd, 1890 in McZena, Ashland County, Ohio to Dr. William and Filena (Kick) Faber.  Both of Roy’s parents passed away unexpectedly in 1909.  Dr. William Faber passed away after a week of bed rest due to liver troubles brought on by habit acquired late in life.  Roy’s mother passed away a little more than six months after William, leaving Roy to raise his younger brothers.
March 27, 1908 Pearl Belle Forrer was married to Roy Ernest Faber.  The pair had six children, Mary Filena 1909, Winora Belle 1911, Roy Ernest Jr. 1914, Doris Mae (passed away at childhood 1916-1917), JoAnne Harriet 1924 and Richard Laverne 1926. 
Roy was appointed Postmaster in Rittman, Ohio by the Office of President Woodrow Wilson in January 1915, and served as Postmaster until 1920.  In March of 1920 Roy Faber was arrested by Federal authorities after stealing $5,000 from a registered mail package containing $15,000 that was enroute to the Cleveland Federal bank from Rittman Savings Bank.
On October 15, 1929, Roy Ernest Faber passed away unexpectedly following an appendectomy operation in Wheeling, West Virginia.  His body was returned to Rittman, Ohio where he was buried in Old Rittman Cemetery.  His wife Pearl remarried in 1937 to Adolf Rastorfer, she was laid to rest next to Roy Ernest Faber and Adolf in Rittman Cemetery.  Roy was employed as a salesman at Miller Auto Trading Co. in Rittman, Ohio at the time of his death.
