Filena Kick Faber

Filena Kick Faber

Filena (Kick) Faber was born on February 21, 1870 in Lake Township, Holmes County, Ohio.  Her parents were John and Mary (Wolf) Kick.

On May 2, 1889 Filena Kick was married to William Faber of nearby McZena, Ohio.  Her husband would be locally successful, becoming first a physician by trade, after several years an elected corner and even the Mayor of Orrville where they resided for a short time.  She would move several times between Rittman, Wooster and Orrville with her husband and young family, finally building their family home in Rittman, Ohio.

The couple would raise a family of three boys; Roy Ernest, Harmon Dudley,  and John Philip.  Her young husband passed away unexpectedly after a sudden illness.  Filena would continue to raise the young men, however; she would also pass away unexpectedly.  On August 22, 1909; Filena’s life was cut short by Peritonitis.  Filena Faber is buried next to her husband in Fairview Cemetery near Craigton, Wayne County Ohio.
